Gabbie walks her PATH

Gabbie has autism and life hasn’t always been easy. She lived with her family, and although they enjoy a great relationship, living at home didn’t give her the opportunities she wanted. 

She felt isolated and described herself as a loner. A typical young woman, she dreamed of independence, friendship and making a difference in the world.  

Gabbie and her family approached ConneXu, sharing her vision for her future, and the challenges that meant it was currently beyond her grasp. Together they mapped out a unique ConneX-Plan, combining the various elements that would give Gabbie the lifestyle she wanted, with a personalised support network to help her work towards her dreams and goals.

With ConneXu, Gabbie is achieving her dreams, and living her life, her way.

Creating a ConneX-Plan 

These are some of the elements in Gabbie’s current ConneX-Plan. And of course, as Gabbie’s needs and dreams evolve, her ConneX-Plan evolves to grow with her.

  • Live in a flat with flatmates

  • Daily support

  • Support with shopping, cooking etc.

  • Continue the job I love

  • Create a PATH(TM) to capture my vision and create the steps to get there

  • Gain qualifications toward becoming a councilor

  • Make new friends and enjoy new hobbies
