If you have driven through downtown Te Awamutu lately you might recognise the familiar yellow and pink circles of ConneXu’s logo along Sloane Street. You would be right – ConneXu haven’t always been there – we have moved!

But if you are waiting for an invitation to the office party, you might be disappointed... or at least need to wait a little longer. “We’re very excited about our new space and we have intended to have a party to celebrate moving in – but so far our time and energy has been focused on the business of growing our team so that we can support people in the best way possible,” explains Chief Executive Fern Ryan.

And it is little wonder there hasn’t been much time for party planning. “In the past few months, we have had an extensive review of how we can structure our team to provide the most effective support for individuals: clients, as well as our own team. It of course takes time to bring this new larger structural vision to fruition, including recruiting and training the new team members. However, when this process is complete, the value it will add to the organisation will be significant - creating an environment where everyone can thrive.

“We have created brand new positions and an organisational structure specifically to ensure that everyone has the right support and is focused on the right outcomes to achieve their job objectives, and own personal and career goals,” says Fern. “Having the right team and support structure around our people means that we can more effectively do the job we are here to do: support people to live their lives, their way.”

And the bigger space of the new office is a perfect place to house ConneXu’s growing team. “The open plan layout makes it easy for us to work together collaboratively and be an even more effective team for the people we support than ever.”
