Training and career development opportunities
Another great development at ConnneXu, is that we will be supporting any interested employees in completing the Certificate in Health and Wellbeing. This will be offered as part of ongoing professional development opportunities and career planning, and the achievement of the certificate unit standards will align with pay equity levels. This new qualification has been specifically designed by Careerforce, our Industry Training Organisation, to make sure that we all have the skills required to meet the changes in the industry, and will further improve the level of service we are able to provide to the people we support.
Both Kate and Tema are currently in the process of becoming accredited facilitators. We are very fortunate that we have had the benefit of collaborating with Judy Finn, from Aspire, who has been mentoring them both, and will assist with ConneXu’s accreditation.
Tema will facilitate level 2, and our new employees will either complete, or be close to completing this level, during their 3-month induction. Level 3 will be facilitated by Kate and Tema, and level 4 will be facilitated by Kate.
ConneXu will pay for registration and course costs, as well as complete applications (on the employee’s behalf) for training grants to assist with the cost of the facilitation and delivery. Some staff may be able to cross-credit qualifications already achieved towards these unit standards, and we can support staff while they complete the remaining units.
The courses will start no later than 1st October, 2017, with the aim that by the end of next year, we will have staff that will have completed level 4.
If you have more questions regarding this qualification, and how and when you can get started on it, contact Kate (ConneXu Operations Manager).
