Talent found at ConneXu Talent Quest
It was a night of great entertainment, laughter and much enjoyment. The ConneXu talent quest was a resounding success. Much talent was found – from singing, celebrity impersonations, joke telling, dancing, and even kickboxing – excited and nervous people performed their hearts out.
Maisa Teomatavui, Community Facilitator at ConneXu, was very happy how the night went; “It was a real community event – people from all around the community came not just to enjoy the entertainment, but helped out by bringing lights, making signs, providing a pot-luck dinner, decorating the venue, and so on. Everyone brought something to the evening.” Local band Jan Alz Band also performed for free, and says Maisa of the group; “judging by the number of people enjoying a good boogie on the dance floor, their music was a hit.” Jacob, also a Community Facilitator at ConneXu, was the DJ for the night too, so he kept the crowd dancing once the band finished.
The talent quest winners were; Ben Chisnall (first), Jessica Cabrita (second), and Brittany Edward and Katie Townsend (third). Well done to you, and to everyone who performed – all of the acts were very much enjoyed. Thanks to Marshall Pharmacy, Fonterra, Westpac, Farm Sources, and NZ Couriers who sponsored prizes for all talent quest entrants. Look out for details on the next event; we have a couple of ConneXu sports days coming up, as well as a ConneXu Culture night, which will be held in the near future.
