Kate Shaw – Executive Leader, Services & Development
Kate has worked in the Disability and Community Services field since 2003, upon completion of a Bachelor of Organisational Psychology and Human Resource Management. She has lead teams in the areas of Supported Employment, Community Connections and Court Ordered Community Supports.
She has also spent five years working for Disability Support Link as a Needs Assessor and Service Co-ordinator. Kate was employed by ConneXu in February 2013 and is responsible for managing the Operations and Service Delivery arms of the organisation. Kate has a passion for enabling people to live their life, their way – encouraging them to have everyday relationships and experiences that are person centred and meaningful to them.
Kate is a member of the Enabling Good Lives (EGL) Waikato Leadership Group as a provider representative. She is focussed on ensuring that ConneXu holds the eight principles of EGL and the organisations values at the forefront of every decision, and that the people we facilitate supports to live in an Inclusive Community, where they have natural connections and are empowered.
In her spare time, Kate enjoys spending quality time on the dairy farm, near Pirongia where she lives with her husband and three children. With her husband, Kate owns New Zealand’s oldest jersey herd and enjoys hosting visits for international dairy enthusiasts. She loves to socialise with family and friends, and is always keen for a day out on the boat water-skiing.
