Kate Shaw – Executive Leader, Services & Development
Kate has worked in the Disability and Community Services field since 2003, upon completion of a Bachelor of Organisational Psychology and Human Resource Management. She has led teams in the areas of Supported Employment, Community Connections and Court Ordered Community Supports.
Kate was employed by ConneXu in February 2013 and is responsible for the development of new opportunities for the organisation, as well as ConneXu services, employees and the people ConneXu support.
Kate is a member of the Enabling Good Lives (EGL) Waikato Leadership Group as a provider representative. She is focussed on ensuring that ConneXu holds the eight principles of EGL and the organisation’s values at the forefront of every decision. Her aim is to ensure that the people ConneXu support live in an Inclusive Community, where they have natural connections and are empowered to live the life of their choice.
In her spare time, Kate enjoys spending quality time on the dairy farm, near Pirongia where she lives with her husband and three children. With her husband, Kate owns New Zealand’s oldest jersey herd and enjoys hosting visits for international dairy enthusiasts. She loves to socialise with family and friends, and is always keen for a day out on the boat water-skiing.
