Dee Phoenix – Quality Practice Leader
Dee has a passion for working alongside people, encouraging them to see their full potential and supporting them to have the best quality life. This goes for both the work that ConneXu does supporting people in the community, as well as in her role as Quality Practice Leader. She enjoys mentoring and leading staff, helping them to reach their professional goals and enjoy their work environment.
She comes to ConneXu with two decades of experience within the health and justice sectors, including being a Rehab Therapist promoting wellness through outdoor education/therapy, as well as working for Police and Probation Services. While working for Police and Probation Services, she predominately worked alongside clients in their homes and community, as this is where she believes true change can happen.
Dee holds a Diploma in Mental Health, has several papers towards a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and has had training in an array of different areas, including Multisystemic Treatment of Anti-social Behaviour, Conflict Resolution and Negotiation, Calming and Restraint, Hearing Voices, and Motivational Interviewing Techniques.
When she is not at work, Dee gets pleasure from art and sculpture, including upcycling household items and turning them into art (for example, an old free-standing hairdryer is now a lamp). She also enjoys horse riding, travelling, working on her lifestyle block and spending time with her family.
