Taking up new challenges with confidence
The Innovation award acknowledges the contribution made by our hardworking team in finding new ways of extending the capabilities of the people we support, so they can play their part in the community and take pride in their achievements.
Leading us to our goals
Good leaders inspire their peers, using their insights for the benefit of all. At ConneXu, we have outstanding staff, with positive qualities that move us all closer to our shared goals.
By sharing our knowledge and ideas, we are better able to assist the people we support to achieve their objectives of finding their place in the community.
Enabling the people we support to live a happy, fulfilled life
The Enabling Good Lives award endorses our goal of assisting those we support to live the life they choose, identifying and developing their abilities so they can take part in their community.
The Caring Award recognises the constructive encouragement our Community Facilitators give to each other, and to the people we support as we help them to express themselves and become more confident communicators.
ConneXu promotes staff training and sharing of ideas
Personal development is essential for everyone within ConneXu. Regular training and sharing of observations is part of our commitment to personal development. As theories are learned, they are soon put into practice as our Community Facilitators initiate activities that will help those they support to achieve their personal goals.
In particular, the health and safety of everyone at ConneXu, and particularly of the people we care for, is fundamental to our training and our work.
Putting others first is what we do best
The People’s Choice was a popular award and well deserved, illustrating our appreciation of peer support as we assist the people we support to develop the skills and independence they need to enjoy positive, happy lives.
The awards ceremony was held at the Windy Ridge Function Centre in the Ohaupo village, with the theme of Winter Wonderland. We enjoyed the delicious food and several hours of fun as the band kept us entertained. We’d like to thank the supportive families who enabled the evening to take place.
